Dyscalculia: News from the web:
I thought I would share a tool I use for sewing/measuring. I worked in a costume shop for all 4 years of college and 2 years of graduate school in which I helped sew and create costumes for operas and musicals on my university’s campus. I always struggled with figuring out and remembering fractions when it came to measuring fabric, sizes, etc. due to my dyscalculia. No matter how many times my boss would explain to me how a measuring tape “works” I just could not understand. So this past fall semester (my last semester of my master’s program) I went online and purchased a measuring tape with all the fractions/measurements! What a difference, better late than never, now I can use it for home projects! I hope this may helps others or can just be a fun tool to have around the house when needed
