New research from Munich Germany shows that about 57% of children who have an arithmetic-related learning disorder also suffer from a reading or spelling disability. These children need intensive and specific training and support. Otherwise, they are in danger of failing to achieve the success at school that would be appropriate for their level of intelligence.

Learning Loss important with dyscalculia

If kids are off for three months or so in the summer and do not exercise their brains at all, it is estimated that they’ll loose about a month’s worth of grade level if not more.

To avoid this learning loss, keep them busy from time to time with some reading and math activities.
