We are not in the habit of promoting apps but from time to time I come across a wonderful app and will share it here anyway. This time an app that teaches Number Sense, it uses the colors and sizes of the familiar cuisenaire rods and then uses patterns and the actual numbers in a playful way to combine it all and teach children the numbers.
