How would a student with poor eyesight fare if his glasses were removed? She could hardly follow the lessons anymore. Assignments on the blackboard would be illegible. And she would soon be getting bad grades. Since that, of course, would be unfair, students are allowed to wear glasses. And while this is still lacking, your disability is compensated in other ways, for example, reading aloud or more time to read. The same should apply to students with dyscalculia, says Dieter Budke, chairman of the “Cologne LRS (dyslexia) and dyscalculia working group”.
