Here is a student who explains some good tips and work arounds when you have dyscalculia and need to do college algebra. Best tip I find is this:

Review a little every day. Even if it’s 10 minutes. I forget math so easily. My test scores went form %25 last week to %70 this week. All I’m doing is going back and reading my notes for 15 minutes before homework. You can see that I have copied and pasted some of the same notes from the previous problem. This helps me recognize patterns. I’m understanding so much more than I had. Even if you don’t understand it, being exposed to the same material over and over and over again will eventually put it in your memory. That’s what I’m telling myself anyway.

The Understood organization has done a study and it turned out that half of the parents with children under 18 years of age identify the back-to-school season as the most stressful period in the year. Not the traditional thanksgiving dinner with the whole family and the inlaws and not the Christmas gift giving stress, no it is the back-to-school period.

This will be the goto document for many consultants and educational diagnostician and all others who evaluate children and adults for learding disabilities and bring clarity, uniformity and transparency in the world of learning disability evaluations.
